Connecting Michigan’s Upper and Lower Peninsulas
The Mackinac Bridge is located on Interstate 75 in northern Michigan at the Straits of Mackinac. The bridge connects Michigan’s upper and lower peninsulas. Mackinaw City is located at the south end of the bridge. St. Ignace is located at the north end of the Mackinac Bridge.
Area attractions include Fort Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City, camping and recreational opportunities on both sides of the bridge.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority opened the eight-acre Bridge View Park on June 12, 2002. The park, on the north side of the bridge, is a spectacular place to view and photograph the “Mighty Mac.”
