St. Ignace Welcome Center to Close Temporarily

The St. Ignace Welcome Center will be closed from May 19 through June 21, 2000, to take advantage of the construction work on I-75 which will impact access to the Welcome Center. This cooperative effort will result in timely completion of improvements to both the Welcome Center and the I-75 roadway.
In the interim, visitors may access restroom facilities, travel information and speak with travel counselors at the Mackinaw City Welcome Center, located in Mackinaw City, just south of the Mackinac Bridge approach.
Highway signage has been installed along I-75, informing motorists of the St. Ignace Welcome Center closure, and directing them to the Mackinaw City Welcome Center.

Travelers may also obtain Michigan travel information by calling toll-free (888) 78-GREAT, where travel counselors are available Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. (EDT), and Saturday and Sunday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; or by visiting the Travel Michigan web site at www.michigan.org.
