Tuesday’s Mackinac Bridge Authority meeting cancelled due to approaching storm
Due to a winter storm expected to bring freezing rain to the mid-Lower Peninsula and significant snow to northern lower Michigan, the Mackinac Bridge Authority meeting scheduled for Tuesday in Lansing has been cancelled and will be rescheduled.
“With the potentially hazardous travel conditions, it’s safest to cancel the meeting for now,” said MBA Executive Secretary Bob Sweeney. “We’ll look to reschedule soon and send a notice on the new date and time.”
Agenda items include a report on the 61st annual bridge inspection, a presentation on expanding the structural health monitoring sensors program on the bridge, and updates on the north and south tower painting projects. When rescheduled, the meeting will be available to view on the Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) LiveStream channel.
